Inflammation – How to Reduce it Naturally

  • by

Chronic inflammation is the root cause of many diseases and health issues, everything from heart disease and Alzheimer’s, to fibromyalgia, diabetes and cancer.

While many doctors are finally jumping on the bandwagon, offering anti-inflammatory diets and supplements, there are many practices you can do at home that will help in the fight.

When inflammation lasts longer than the initial healing phase, we start to see issues like lowered immunity, degenerative diseases and possibly even diseases like cancer.

Chronic inflammation is triggered by numerous factors, but most of them are within your control and can be avoided. Take a look at this list. Anything sound familiar?

–  Poor dietary choices like processed foods, too many animal products, sugary drinks, trans fats and certain unhealthy saturated fats, and excess alcohol
–  Gut health issues
–  Food allergies
–  Chronic infections (bacteria, viruses, yeast, parasites)
–  Stress and exhaustion
–  Sedentary lifestyle

Inflammation is not something that you want to take lightly as it can cause serious long-term damage if it’s not taken care of. Chronic inflammation can be localized, as well as systemic. Some examples of localized inflammation are arthritis in a specific joint, cirrhosis of the liver and inflammatory bowel disease.  Systematic inflammation can be seen in autoimmune diseases like chrones disease, celiac disease and in some cardiovascular diseases.
